Special events, festivals, sports, and kid-friendly fun – it’s time to plan your trip to the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Longer days mean it’s time to hit the links, and the Gulf Coast is home to some of Alabama’s finest golf courses. Mobile is a stop on the famed Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and nearby Saraland boasts and championship facility in the Magnolia Grove Golf Course, previous host of the LPGA Tour.
Gulf Shores is the perfect place to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend, and the 2016 LuLu Palooza is just one of many reasons. It's a fun-filled concert on May 28th at LuLu's Homeport Marina, with bands starting at two and playing into the night on an outdoor boat stage. Get your tickets before it sells out.
Gather with Mobile residents and take part in the 3rd Annual Dragon Boat Festival on June 11th. It's seaside fun for spectators as teams of 20 paddlers race on Hong Kong-style Dragon Boats. The racing events are surrounded by all sorts of other festivities as well.
Mobile is the place to spend your Fourth of July this year. On July 4th, the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park hosts a dazzling fireworks display, soundtracked by the The Mobile Pops Band, who will be performing plenty of your family's favorite patriotic songs starting at 5 p.m.
Alabama may not have an MLB team of its own, but that doesn't mean visitors do the Gulf coast can't indulge in America's Pastime. The Montgomery Biscuits go to bat at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile through the first week of September. Check the schedule during your visit to enjoy some MiLB action.
