Visiting the Alabama Gulf Coast
One of the premier destinations you can explore in Alabama is the gulf coast region. During the fall, throughout winter, and into the early spring of 2017, Alabama’s gulf coast will host a number of different festivals and events across cities like Orange Beach, Daphne, and Saraland. Plan your visit to AL’s gulf coast and prepare for unforgettable experiences.
Gulf Shores should certainly be on your list of places to visit along Alabama’s gulf coast. You’ll be able to play a round of golf at the Kiva Dunes Golf Club, and the Gulf State Park should yield sterling hiking and picnic opportunities. Open year round the always-fun Waterville USA should be a real thrill and treat for the kids.
Make your way to The Hangout in Gulf Shores on November 4th and 5th to experience one of the fall’s most-anticipated events. The 9th Annual Oyster Cook Off and Craft Beer Weekend will combine excellent seafood with sterling examples of craft beer in what should be a gift to the senses.
Just to the east of Gulf Shores is Orange Beach, and here, on November 11th through 13th, you can find the 2016 World Food Championships. Now in it’s fifth year – and first time being held along the Alabama gulf coast – the FWC is a cooking tournament slated to feature more than 400 teams from 20 different countries. Register as a VIP and you’ll have access to the exclusive event BOURB’N’QUE.
In nearby Mobile, you’ll have a chance to see some of college football’s most exceptional players at the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl. This is a showcase event and game where college football seniors from schools around the country are expose to professional scouts in preparation for the NFL draft. Game time for the Senior Bowl is 1:30 p.m.
Gulf Shores has even more to offer you in early 2017. Check out the Eric Meyer Civic Center on February 4th from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the 19th Annual Snowbird Bratfest. You’ll find an impressive selection of bratwurst recipes at this charity event that helps to support fire and rescue departs in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan.
