Housing a collection of over 5,000 items, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame is located in downtown Birmingham in central Alabama. Sports fans from all over the country flock to the museum to view items like the Heisman Trophies of Auburn University alumni Bo Jackson and Pat Sullivan.
The ASHOF also houses over 200 inductees on exhibit – including legends like Paul "Bear" Bryant, former football coach at the University of Alabama, and Mobile native and MLB legend Hank Aaron. The facility hosts induction events and ceremonies at the Bryant Jordan Theater.
Covering 740 acres, Barber Motorsports Park is located in eastern Birmingham in Alabama's central region. Since 2003, the multi-purpose racing site has featured a 15-turn, 2.38-mile asphalt track home to numerous Grand-Am, AMA Superbike, and Vintage Racing Series events.

Ross Bridge Golf Course
One of the longest golf courses in the world, the Ross Bridge Golf Course is a signature component of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Established in 1841, Samford University is set in central Alabama outside of Birmingham in the city of Homewood. Home to over 4,000 students, Samford is a private, coeducational university covering 180 acres.
Formerly Howard College, Samford University is also home to the Samford Bulldogs athletics department, featuring 13 varsity teams. Samford suburban campus also features the Harwell Goodwin Davis Library, A. Hamilton Reid Chapel, and the Leslie S. Wright Center for the Fine Arts.
This fall, when you're traveling through Alabama, set your sights for Seibert Stadium. Found in Birmingham, this venue is home to the Samford University football team. As you trek through central Alabama, make time to enjoy an exciting college football game at Seibert Stadium.
You can find Seibert Stadium on the Samford University campus, directly south of downtown Birmingham. Built in 1957, Seibert Stadium seats 6,700 fans – the Samford University Bulldogs have kick off their season each year in late August or early September. The venue was named in honor of F. Page Seibert, who donated money towards the completion of the stadium.
From the Nationwide Series, to the top dogs of the Sprint Cup Series, the Talladega Superspeedway plays host to some of Alabama's biggest NASCAR events.
Specific big-name races held in late summer and into the fall include the Aaron's 499, and the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500 – both Sprint Cup races – with the Aaron's 312 held in early April.
The track was opened in 1969, and has been a staple in the NASCAR community ever since.
Set in Tuscaloosa County, Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park is located in McCalla in central Alabama – just south of Bessemer outside of Birmingham. Found on the National Register of Historic Places, the ironworks were completed in 1862, and were once the iron source for Confederate Civil War soldiers.
Now the 2,063-acre Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park is home to the Iron & Steel Museum of Alabama – plus the John Wesley Hall Grist Mill and the May Plantation Cotton Gin House. Located off Interstate 59, the park is open daily from dawn till dusk.
Established in 1997, the Summit is an entertainment district set in central Alabama in Birmingham. Found at the juncture of U.S. Highway 280 and Interstate 459, the Summit encompasses one million square feet, and features shops, nightlife, and restaurants, like California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, and more.
