Russell Cave National Monument
Encompassing roughly 310 acres of northern Alabama scenery, the Russell Cave National Monument can be found near Huntsville. The park's primary attraction is Russell Cave, formed over 300 million years ago, and available for exploration by visitors today via ranger-guided tours.
Further outdoor exploration can be found along Wildflower Meadow and the 1.2-mile North Alabama Birding Trail which winds around the base of Montague Mountain. Visitors will also want to make a stop at the Gilber H. Grosvenor Visitor Center for museum artifacts, displays, and gifts.
