Lake Tuscaloosa

Lake Tuscaloosa

Formerly the site of the North River, Lake Tuscaloosa is a 6,000-acre reservoir set in central Alabama just north of Tuscaloosa.

Constructed in 1970, this recreational lake features 177 miles of shoreline. The lake was created when neighboring Lake Harris and Lake Nicol were dammed due to Tuscaloosa's rising population.

Visitors of Lake Tuscaloosa enjoy boating, swimming, and fishing during the summer months.

Sport fisherman may reel in the Alabama spotted bass, or largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and white crappie – while causal fisherman can hook catfish, carp, and freshwater drum.
